    These interactive and educational workshops are designed to foster an awareness and appreciation in learning about the history of Canada, and the impacts of colonization. These workshops are facilitated in a safe and supportive environment. The facilitators encourage dialogue and provide opportunities for self-reflection and curiosity. These trainings are adaptable for both in-person and online settings, ensuring accessibility for all and can be adapted to meet the specific needs of your audience. These workshops can also include additional Indigenous traditional drumming, flute playing, or pow wow dancing, for organizations and companies that are interested in adding on an artistic component.

  • Uncovering the Legacy of Colonization Cultural Sensitivity and Safety

    This two-hour workshop delves into a framework of reflection on the context of colonization and its enduring effects on Indigenous communities through an Indigenous lens. Participants will understand what cultural sensitivity and safety mean, and how to apply these to their workplaces. This two-hour workshop will provide an awareness into pre-colonization, with a historical timeline, covering topics such as the signing of the Treaties, the Indian Act, the residential school system, the sixties scoop, and how these are connected to historical injustices continue to impact relationships today. Participants will be provided experiential learning, with an opportunity to examine their how their own beliefs and unconscious biases impact their interactions with Indigenous people. This workshop can be adapted and catered to fit the audience, with additional time allotted for more hands-on activities.

  • Creating Strong Partnerships Through Decolonization: Working with Indigenous People and Communities

    This one-hour workshop focuses on building respectful and effective partnerships with Indigenous individuals and communities. By understanding the impact of colonization, participants will learn practical strategies to decolonize their businesses and create a more inclusive environment for Indigenous people and communities. It is recommended that participants understand the impact of colonization and the affects on Indigenous people and Canadians prior to taking this workshop.

  • Unpacking and Understanding the Impact of Colonization on Indigenous Women

    This one-hour workshop focuses on the Indian Act and its specific implications for Indigenous women. Participants will learn about the historical and contemporary challenges faced by Indigenous women under this legislation. This workshop examines the harmful stereotypes and sexualization of Indigenous women in media and society. Participants will explore strategies to challenge these stereotypes and promote respectful representation.
